Wander Beauty Double Date Lip and Cheek ‘Spring Fling’ Review

As a makeup minimalist, a mom, and someone who loves multitasking products, I always find myself drawn to makeup that can do more than one thing, especially when I’m restocking or trying something new (and most likely clean, too). Even better when the shade just works perfectly for my skin tone. I’m like wanting to go for them forever. That’s exactly what happened with the Wander Beauty Double Date Lip and Cheek in the shade Spring Fling.

If you’ve never tried one of these, they’re like having four shades in one option (see the picture below). And fortunately yet unfortunately, Spring Fling is a limited edition shade that I still don’t understand why they never brought back.

On me, it shows up as a perfect peachy pink, and I am totally in love with this shade. I got this from the Mini Double Date Lip and Cheek limited edition set, and some marketplaces sell it as individual pieces from the set.

But like I said, they discontinued this shade. It feels like one of those perfect holiday moments that didn’t last long. And believe me, I’ve mentioned it a few times on Instagram and even on their TikTok, hoping they would bring this shade back.
In this blog, I will be reviewing how the formula blends into the skin and sharing swatches on my medium neutral to warm with golden undertones.

Packaging

The Double Date Lip and Cheek from Wander Beauty comes in a compact with a clear lid, making it easy to see the shade inside at a glance. It also has a layered design, where the second layer is meant to hold a clear balm for added hydration. And since mine is from a mini set (1.05 g), it only comes with the tint and doesn’t include the clear balm.

Ingredients

Wander Beauty claims to follow its own strict clean beauty standards, avoiding ingredients such as parabens, SLS, SLES, mineral oil, and synthetic fragrance (based on information from their official website below).

From the ingredient list, the formula looks quite minimal overall. I also noticed that it includes a few plant-based ingredients, such as:
– Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, a lightweight moisturizer ingredient that doesn’t feel greasy on the skin.
– Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, a toning, skin-enhancing emollient.
– Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, as antimicrobial, astringent, and emollient properties.
Well, it’s filled up by emollients, no wonder the texture is soo creamy.

Anyway, you can also see the full list of ingredients here for reference.

Texture, Scent, and Swatches

I really like the texture, which feels creamy yet lightweight. It blends into my cheeks with a glowy swipe and then leaves a soft stain. Especially on my dry skin, it settles into a soft matte finish that looks flawless.

With just one swipe, the pigmentation is already enough in my opinion. However, you can add a few more layers for a more dramatic result. For the lips, I prefer to add a gloss as a topper, because I like juicy lips (or my lips are really THAT dry. Without a topper, it usually lasts around 4–5 hours with light eating and drinking.

As a blush, it actually lasts longer on my skin, up to around 7 hours. I also rarely do touch-ups for my whole face, like, usually, I only touch up the lip area, and this really helps. It did the job well.

This little magic is unscented, which is a dream for me. Soft scents are fine, but unscented is pure heaven! So if you really love unscented multitasking products, you definitely need to try this one.

As you can see earlier, I’ve already hit pan because I use this for my daily look. The picture above is a swatch on my two-toned lips. With multiple swipes, it can cover that area, which means the color is buildable while still looking flattering.

This is my full face, wearing it on both the lips and cheeks in natural lighting. As you can see, Spring Fling shows up as a bright peachy pink that blends well with my medium warm skin tone, and I really love it.

Final Verdict

If you love a multitasking product that hydrates, adds a pop of color to both cheeks and lips, and is unscented, this one is definitely worth trying, even if you have dry and sensitive skin like mine.

I really hope the Wander Beauty team can hear me and all the peachy pink lovers out there to bring this shade back, because I would definitely purchase it! (Or even better, create more shade ranges, because the formula is honestly 10/10!)

You can get this product for USD 24, with a total weight of 2 x 2.10 g / 0.07 oz here.

For a multitasking product with a relatively small amount, I do think it’s a bit pricey though. I finished the mini size (1.05 g) in about 6–7 months with regular use.

What do you think?

Talk to you soon,
Pika 🌼
