Son & Park Arti Spread Color Balm 04 Hearty Swatch & Review

As someone who’s into minimal makeup, I’ve always loved multi-use products. I mean, if one product can work for multiple areas, that’s already a win for me.
Honestly, I don’t own that many K-Beauty products. But Son & Park Arti Spread Color Balm immediately caught my attention.

Aside from its balmy texture, which naturally gives a dewy finish (and works really well for my dry skin), this product is also multi-use. Just the way I like it. You can use it on your cheeks, lips, and even on your eyes if you want.

It all started when I was casually scrolling through TikTok, searching for a lip product in an earthy tone that would suit my medium skin tone with a warm olive undertone. And that’s when Son & Park Color Balm popped up.

What surprised me was that it actually comes in two lines: Arti Spread Color Balm with a dewy finish, and Arti Blur Balm with a matte finish. Each line also comes in several shades.

For my dry skin, a dewy finish is almost always the better choice. So I did a bit more research on which shade would work best for my medium warm with golden undertone. In the end, I decided to go with shade 04 Hearty, which is described as a redwood MLBB (My Lips But Better) shade.

Packaging

Both Arti Spread Color Balm and Blur Balm come in small plastic pots with screw-on lids, similar to balm packaging. You need to open the lid first, then use either clean fingers or a lip brush to pick up the product. The pot itself is transparent, so you can easily see the product color from the outside. Each pot contains 4 grams of product.

Ingredients

When it comes to the ingredients, I noticed a Vegan logo on the packaging. Unfortunately, the full ingredient list is only provided in Korean, even on the official website. So I tried to look it up myself and found what appears to be the ingredient list (hopefully it’s accurate!):
Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate,Diisostearyl Malate,Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride,Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2,Polybutene,Polyethylene,Microcrystalline Wax,Ceresin,Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter,CI 77492 (Iron Oxide Yellow),Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax,Perfume (Fragrance),CI 15850 (Red 7 Lake),CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide),Silica,Caprylyl Glycol,CI 77499 (Iron Oxide Black),Dimethicone,Aluminum Hydroxide.

At first glance, the ingredient list looks quite technical, with names like Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate. From what I found, it mainly helps create a smooth, blendable texture.

There’s also Shea Butter, which is known for its rich, softening properties, and Candelilla Wax, a plant-based alternative to beeswax that helps seal in moisture while giving the balm its structure.

Texture, Scent & Swatch

The texture of Son & Park Arti Spread Color Balm is a soft balm that melts easily with body temperature. When you pick it up with your finger, you can feel how quickly it softens and melts.

The same thing happens when you apply it to your lips or cheeks. It spreads and blends very easily. Surprisingly, even though it melts so effortlessly, it doesn’t feel sticky at all. On the lips, it almost looks like a gloss, but it’s actually a balm! For someone with dry skin like me, this texture works really well.

As for the scent, it reminds me of berry candy. To be honest, I was hoping this product would be fragrance-free, since I’m quite sensitive to scents.

However, knowing that this product is vegan made me curious enough to try it. Overall, the scent isn’t overpowering or annoying, and after about a week of use, I haven’t experienced any signs of irritation or allergy.

Here’s the swatch of Son & Park Arti Color Balm that I own, in shade 04 Hearty (Rosewood MLBB).

You can see that the color is quite opaque, even with just one swipe on the hand swatch; the pigment shows up nicely.

You can also see how it looks on the lips and cheeks. Once blended, the finish appears very natural, as expected for a balm. Yes, this is a tinted balm, and it’s multi-use. Of course, you’ll need to retouch after eating or drinking, which I personally don’t mind at all. On me, it lasts around 3–4 hours without eating or drinking, and even as it fades, it still leaves a slight tint behind.

On my medium neutral-to-warm golden undertone, shade 04 Hearty leans more toward a warm, rosy-brick or warm rosewood shade. It’s perfect for a makeup-no-makeup look. Here’s how it looks overall on the lips and cheeks under natural sunlight.

Final Verdict

In my opinion, Son & Park Arti Spread Color Balm is definitely worth trying, especially if you:

  • Love multitasking or multi-use makeup products
  • Prefer minimal makeup or a makeup-no-makeup look
  • Have dry skin and enjoy balmy products with a dewy finish rather than matte

With a price range of around US$3–US$4, you get a 4-gram pot that’s very travel-friendly. The formula blends easily with just your fingers, making it perfect for quick, everyday makeup. If you’re not comfortable applying products with your fingers, a lip brush is a better option.

Overall, shade 04 Hearty works beautifully as a natural flush for both lips and cheeks, especially if you’re into effortless, low-maintenance makeup.

So, what do you think, would you try this balm?

Talk to you soon,
Pika🌼
